In a nutshell
Sandwich
The village streets wind their way from duck pond to church steeple and along the
way you will see original historic houses lovingly preserved. Best spots include Heritage
Plantation with the Memories of Childhood collection and some wonderful vintage cars.
Falmouth
Wander down the lovely Main Street and enjoy the countless shops and restaurants,
or take a day to visit the oceanographic institute's Titanic exhibition. The ferries for
Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket leave from here, or bike the 'Shining Sea Trail'.
Hyannis
Scoff the famous clams, hit the beaches and view the JFK Museum and Kennedy
estate, or 'compound'. From the port you can sail to the islands of Nantucket and
Martha's Vineyard. Satisfy any retail cravings at the Cape Cod Mall.
Chatham
Chic shops stand cheek by jowl with taverns and restaurants. Lots of Chatham
is preserved with Sea Captains' houses featuring heavily. The location is perfect,
right on the 'elbow' of the Cape. Concerts on the green are a pleasure in summer.
