In Miami;

The Spanish first discovered Miami in the early 16th Century and these days the whole area has an exotic Latin feel to it - from the delightful architecture in pastel-coloured Coral Gables to the genuine Cuban community in Little Havana with its eclectic shops, cafés and well-priced Latin cuisine restaurants.

In a nutshellIn a nutshell

Miami has countless other features, which is why it's so popular with Virgin' guests. The main attraction of Sunny Isles is the wide white sand beaches and family-friendly, laid-back atmosphere. It's the closest of our resorts to Aventura Mall which has just enjoyed a multi-million dollar renovation - so there are even more shops to get your bargains from! Designer discounts can be found at Dolphin Mall near the airport, which has over 200 shops. Further south is the upmarket resort of Bal Harbour which has beaches and designer shopping to while away your time. Key Biscayne is a natural island paradise just over a bridge (or causeway) from the mainland.

Key Largo, with USA's only living coral reef, and the Everglades National Park are both a 1 hour 30-min drive from Miami, while closer to home, Watson Island, which lies between downtown Miami and South Beach, has a range of fantastic, kid-friendly attractions.

The brand-new Miami Children's Museum has interactive exhibits and learning materials designed to keep kids amused for hours.

Choose from endless array of ethnic cuisine or American specialities. Plenty of stars own restaurants here - try Gloria Estefan's place Larios on the beach where they serve the best mojitos in town!

Fun & gamesFun & games

Key Largo, the start of the Florida Keys, is only an hour's drive and home to the USA's only living coral reef; the Everglades is also an hour away and is a must-see for its abundant wildlife. In Miami visit Millionaires Row, where stars like Anna Kournikova, Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias have palatial homes. The Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL) and Art Deco Museum run guided tours of the buildings. The verdant Botanical Gardens are also worth a visit.

Handy stuffHandy stuff

Ocean Drive and Washington Avenue are lined with fashionable boutiques selling one-off pieces, vintage clothing and cool accessories. Miami Mall is one of Florida's biggest and further north it's worth taking a trip up to Bal Harbour for its exclusive designer shops.
