Insurance (this really is important)
You MUST, repeat MUST have proper travel insurance.
Please refer to the information
about our excellent insurance. It ensures peace of mind. If you pay the
premium at the time you book then it covers you for loss of deposit or any
charges if you had to cancel your holiday for circumstances of illness for
example. There are some restrictions on insurance, ie pre-existing medical
conditions and you should ensure you advise these to the Insurer prior to
travel.
Weather
Many Adventures take place outdoors and therefore will be affected by the weather.
Whilst high water levels from melting snow will make rafting more thrilling
in the Spring, lower water levels in the Autumn might suit first-timers better.
Heat will make hiking more difficult! Trips will normally continue to run except
in extreme conditions, but itineraries may change slightly to adapt to the weather
and to ensure guests' safety and enjoyment. Where we are aware of this in advance,
details will be given prior to your departure.
Age Limits - (teenagers and children)
Whilst many of these holidays are perfect for teenagers, they are not suitable for young children and we regret that we are unable to accept anyone under the age of 6 years. Any minimum age requirement is shown on the adventure page. There is rarely a minimum age limit but travellers are expected to exercise common sense as to whether the Adventure is suitable for them.
Adventure Accommodation
Whilst on your Adventure, accommodation may be simple with only basic washing and toilet facilities as you could be camping, staying with a family or in a local guesthouse. If you are camping you may be required to help set up camp, pitch your own tents and gather firewood. Whilst you might not have all the creature comforts you are used to, staying in local accommodation adds spice and is all part of the experience. In exceptional circumstances where accommodation is limited, guests may have to share.
Meals/All Inclusive
For the non-Adventure part of your holiday, meals if included, are based on table d'hote menus. All inclusive does not necessarily mean that unlimited food and beverages are available 24 hours a day. Hotels often place restrictions on restaurants and meal arrangements.
Adventure Group Sizes
Group sizes on each Adventure are usually quite small so it is advisable to book early to ensure you get a place. Some of our activities are subject to a minimum number of participants for their operation. If minimum numbers have not been reached, we will aim to advise you at least 8 weeks prior to departure. You will then have the choice of booking an alternative holiday with us, changing your departure date at the appropriate cost, or having a refund of all monies paid.
Single Travellers
Single travellers are welcomed and an Adventure holiday is a great way to meet like-minded people. Hoteliers and Adventure operators will charge a supplement for sole occupancy of accommodation, please check availability to determine if any supplements apply.
Health and Fitness
Most Adventures require some level of active participation and it is only fair
to yourself, your group and the rest of the Adventure party that everyone should
be capable of fully participating in the Adventure. The most important thing
is to discuss the Adventure fully with each member of your party before making
a booking and if you are unsure about anyone's fitness levels then consult your
doctor. Only you can judge whether an Adventure is suitable.
Safety On Your Adventure
Your safety is of paramount importance so it is essential that you listen carefully to any safety briefing by the adventure operator and follow their advice. For some of the activities featured in this programme, the local operator may request that you sign a disclaimer before taking part. This is to confirm that you have been made aware of Heath and Safety requirements and understand any risks involved in taking part in the activity.
