Breezes Bahamas

If you're under 25, young at heart, or don't mind being surrounded by crazed 18-year old kids then this is the place to be. The hotel itself is quite nice, very clean, friendly staff. There was all different age ranges (teens to older people)..but mostly recent high school graduates from the U.S...although plenty of couples, singles and families with older children. The main pool area was always busy with people and activities. There is one swim up bar and a volleyball net set up in the pool. The grill there offers a good variety of food from about 11am (i think) to 6:30pm. The beach is very clean and plenty of beach beds although not very many huts for shade. The ocean is amazing...no big waves and absolutely clear water. Also another volley ball net set up on the beach. The trapeze and wall climb were available on alternate days. Entertainment all day and late into the night -which can get quite loud. Not the place to be if you're looking for peace and quiet. But if you love the party atmosphere then this is the place. There is a club below the lobby which gets goin usually after main bar area entertainment ends (usually around midnite). Buffet food was quite good. Breakfast was a bit repetitive but had a good variety and was replenished often. Lunch and dinner varied a bit and always offered a good selection of fruits and salads. We didn't get a chance to eat at the a la cartes because they were always booked by 10am. Our room faced the pool so there was a lot of noise but we were ok with that..also was able to get over the slamming doors at all hours and the groups of laughing teens wandering the corridors. The rooms on the first floor may have been flooded as we saw sand bags all around. Our room was on the 2nd (main) floor which was very convenient not having to go up n down the stairs or wait for the elevator. Room itself was standard with renovated bathroom. Large flatscreen tv. There aren't balconies -well there are but they are about 1 foot wide so only good to hang your stuff out to dry or have a smoke. Staff was helpful with our questions but we didnt need to interact with them too much since we had no issues with our room or anything. Rooms don't have mini fridge. Bartenders were great and loaded our drinks =) Breezes is about 10-15 minute bus or cab ride into town where all the good shopping and bars/clubs are located. There is also a smaller flea market about 5 min walk from the hotel. Cab to Atlantis is about $21 each way. People told us the cover charge to get into the club at Atlantis was $100 but it was only $20. Overall, great place to stay although i wouldn't recommend it if you're looking to relax much. Close

Worst vacation!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Food was disgusting! Rooms were filthy! We woke up one morning and there were so many bugs crawling all over the dresser! Staff was NOT helpful!!!! This is the only time I've ever written a review - I felt it was my duty to warn people not to stay here! I attached photos -- see for yourself! Close

My wife and oldest son, along with his best friend stayed at Breezes from June 6th thru the 13th. We checked in at 3:15 and my sons room was ready but our wasn't, but that was okay. We went to the bar and had a couple of drinks. By 4:00 our room was ready and I was actually pleased with the room. It was clean, cool and comfortable. the bathroom was very nice, and also clean. After reading all the negative reviews I should have realized that you just can't please some people. The restaurants were okay. Not great but not bad either. The main dining room does need a little help with clearing tables a litte faster, but I just couldn't see that as a deal breaker. they had a good variety of foods at all servings, and I could always find something to eat that I liked. Again good food not 5 star but good. don't get there at the end of service and except a full selection. The pool area was great. ( with the exception of the hot tub). The water was refreshing and cool. and you could always find a seat around the pool to relax in. The bar at the pool was great. Michelle and that whole staff kept that area a great place to hang out in. When the line for drinks got long you still never had to wait more than a few minutes for a drink. I have bartended before and they did a great job, Much thanks. The beach, GREAT. The ocean, GREAT. The staff, GREAT. Where were all these other people staying? Breezes is definitely a 31/2 star resort and I will be back again. Close

Our vacation was great as soon as we step off the bus at the hotel we were greeted with a cool drink by Jerry he was sooo welcoming.Then that evening the staff gave an amazing performance which was lead by Mekeda and Kristal they are 2 great young women that made our stay wonderful.A vacation is what you put into it the staff adds the personal touch from bartenda michele and luckon and Authur and Polo in the diningroom.It was one of the best vacations yet and we travel every year. Ok so anyone out there considering staying at this hotel needs to get their head examined!! Trust me!!! My girlfirend and I stayed here June 7,8 and 9th 3 days too long! I feel so sorry for the staff who have to work here. What are the owners thinking? FIX THIS PLACE up!!!! The good: The BEACH The snack shack at the beach had awesome fries and salads The band was good :) The Bad: It smells AWEFUL, eweeeeeee yuck! A little bleach goes a long way.All the reviews are true! Constant mopping with dirty water..... The beds have BUGS IN THEM!!!!! The sheets have never been washed!!!! The drapes had BLOOD on them!!!! There are NO BALCONIES...hello? we are in the TROPICS....we came for the sea breeze and beautiful ocean There is mould everywhere You eat in a dungeon No bottled WATER??? The water tasted like it had 4 pounds of salt in it, perfect with a hangover!! Dirty dirty dirty This resort caters to the "frat" party crowd, so if you are into that this is the PERFECT place!! You can barf in the pool and no one would know! Then you can sit on bean bag chairs and play Nintendo..... We left after day 3, our LOVELY travel agent got us out, thank goodness!! Thank you thank you!! Stay at the Riu on Paradise Island, its not much more $$ and it was FANTASTIC! Close
