Hotel information

It's not often you get to stay in a historic
landmark. This was formerly the navy's pitch and tar
store - dark polished wood, antique furniture and
old-fashioned maids outfits set the tone.
The bar counter
top is an original Workshop bench top found elsewhere in
the Dockyard you can still make out various ships names
carved on it by the Seamen of the time.
Where is it?
In Nelsons Dockyard, part of English Harbour in the south of
Antigua off the beaten track. They have a boat available to
take you to the beach at Freeman's Bay, at the entrance to
the Harbour. It is a white sandy beach with no road access,
and there are good snorkelling reefs nearby. Transfer time
from airport: 40 min.
Eats and drinks
All meals at the hotel restaurant are on a la carte, with a
varied selection of choice. The tree-shaded terrace is a
delightful place to sit and dine, looking out over the water.
Local seafood is their speciality and they serve fresh local
produce whenever possible. A full range of wine is available.

Facilities
FREE daytime water taxi to Galleon Beach and across the
harbour to popular Catherine's Café. FREE daytime shuttle
to Pigeon Beach. FREE snorkelling equipment. Room service.
Laundry (local charge). Evening entertainment is provided in
the form of a steel band or local string and flute band
occasionally during the season, but in general the
atmosphere is peaceful and low-key.

9 Moderate and Superior Rooms on 2 upper floors of the
main house (Superior Rooms have views over the harbor)
and 4 Superior rooms (as featured above) in adjacent
ground-floor annex, where rooms have patios. All rooms
with ceiling fan, telephone and either a queen-size or 2 twin
beds, sleeping max 2 adults. Majority of rooms have
air-conditioning.
