The award-winning Couples Sans Souci continues to offer renowned cuisine and first-class service in an elegantly tropical setting. Sans Souci is French for 'without a care', and what could be more appropriate for a laid-back holiday in Jamaica, especially in a resort of this quality? Set into a pretty, 35-acre hillside garden that leads to 2 white sand beaches, the resort offers you a blissful retreat.

Where is it?

On a golden beach, 4 miles east of Ocho Rios. Transfer time from airport: 2 hours 10 min.

Eats and drinks

Ristorante Casanova (Italian, dinner, reservation required), Palazzina Restaurant (international bistro, buffet and à la carte breakfast and lunch, à la carte French bistro for dinner - reservation required), Bella Vista (Jamaican, dinner only), Beach Grill (gourmet burgers etc, 12.30pm-5.00pm and 11.00pm-6.00am). The Balloon Bar (piano bar and lounge), beach bar, swim-up bar, Sunset Bar (naturist beach, pool and swim-up bar), Charlie's Spa Bar. In-suite dining available 6.00am-11.00pm. 24 hour dining. Restaurants close on Tuesday and Friday evenings when the Beach Party and Starlight Gala nights are on, however in-room dining is available during these times.

150 Ocean-facing Suites on up to 3 floors in 10 buildings. All with air-conditioning, TV, tea/coffee maker, mini-bar, safe, iron and board, bathrobes and hairdryer. Most rooms have a king-size bed, but some rooms are available with twin beds. Ocean Suites – with partial sea views and large master bedroom. Room sleeps max 2 adults.

Room Upgrade

Verandah Suites – have spacious master bedroom and large balconies. Ocean Suites with Balconies – have panoramic sea views. Ocean Jacuzzi Suites (available until 30 Apr 09) – chic suites, all with separate sitting area and Jacuzzi tub. All with beautiful ocean views. Some with balcony.
