Destination information
Only Tobago holidays give you the chance to experience the natural wonder of the oldest protected rainforest in the Western Hemisphere.. Some of David Attenborough's Trials of Life series was filmed at the Little Tobago Seabird Sanctuary and underwater explorer Jacques Cousteau was enraptured by the coral reefs. Many are just offshore from the beach, making snorkelling easy and one of the great pleasures of a sojourn here! Things get lively on a Sunday night at a big street party known as 'Sunday School' where soca rhythms fill the air and the street comes alive with dancing!
Sightseeing ideas
Tobago holidays offer a lot more than sparkling seas and peaceful beaches. This small island is fringed by a maze of stunning coral reefs, including the famous Buccoo Reef, which is a protected marine park. Explore its unique ecosystem by boat, or slip on some flippers and get up close and personal with the teeming sea life. Once back on dry land, take a tour of the ancient forts, the nature reserves or soak up some culture at one of the island’s art galleries or museums. And don’t forget to take in the vibrant villages, including Charlotteville, Castara and Scarborough, where you’ll experience an authentic flavour of island life.
They may be neighbouring islands, but Trinidad and Tobago holidays couldn’t be different. Why not take an excursion to Trinidad and see for yourself? This extrovert island, famous as the birthplace of calypso – and for its annual carnival – is the perfect partner to Tobago’s natural peace.
