The National dish is Fungi and Pepperpot, Fungi is polenta type pasta made with cornmeal and okra which is then cooked in a ball. Pepperpot is a type of stew which is similar to a hearty casserole. International and lcoal dishes are widely available throughout the island.

The most popular event on the island is sailing week which takes place 27 April - 03 May 2008. A mighty fleet of 200 yachts sail in this annual regatta.
