This 10 night cruise takes in a diverse range of destinations including Half Moon Cay
in the Bahamas, a private island offering an amazing array of activities that will bring
out the energetic, or more relaxing side in you. Visit the delightful landscape of Aruba,
the Dutch colonial Curaçao, the busy San José port and the outstanding Panama Canal
steeped in history, representing the stories of true human vision, tragedy and triumph.
These wonderful destinations are topped by two luxurious cruise ships, the Volendam, with features inspired by the
pre-Columbian and Renaissance eras, travels between Jan-Apr, and the Zuiderdam, with its 3-storey atrium and
exquisite pieces of art, between Nov-Dec. Both ships offer superb facilities and accommodation, a superb array of
top-class entertainment, dedicated activities for tots to teens and a fantastic health spa and salon, to name but a few!
Day 1: Set sail, Fort Lauderdale
5.00pm: Set sail from Fort
Lauderdale; why not take in
your new surroundings by
walking to the top deck to get
a bird’s-eye view?
Day 2: Half moon Cay, Bahamas*
8.00am: Arrive at Half Moon
Cay, Holland America Line’s
private island, offering
everything from rest and
relaxation to an energetic day
of play. Will you be relaxing at
the blue lagoon or chill out with
a cocktail in your own private
cabana? The choice is totally
yours! Depart 3.00pm.
Day 3: Day at leisure
Take today as a perfect
opportunity to indulge in the onboard
amenities; why not treat
yourself to a relaxing treatment
at The Greenhouse Spa & Salon?
Day 4: Oranjestad, Aruba
12.00pm: Aruba is your next
destination, a landscape speckled
with contorted divi divi trees and
coral reefs perfectly situated for
scuba-diving enthusiasts. Why
not visit the colourful floating
markets. Depart 10.00pm.
Day 5: Willemstad, Curacao
8.00am: A Dutch colonial village
with Caribbean flavour, the
capital Willemstad is a bustling
duty-free port that has it all.
Lined with Amsterdam-like
canals, exotic floating markets
and a world-famous Curaçao
Liquer Distillery, you will need
the whole day to soak up the
flavours of this unique Caribbean
island. Depart 5.00pm.
Day 6: Day at leisure
Now is the time to visit the
on-board fitness centre. Why not step it up with a ki-bo circuittraining
class or take a relaxing
but revitalising yoga session?
Day 7: Panama Canal at Cristóbal,
Panama
5.00am: A full and exhilarating
itinerary awaits you today as you
arrive in Panama. Board a tour
boat for a partial transit of the
canal or take it to Gatun Lake,
the key to the intricate lock
system. Excursions are also
available to Cristobal, Limon Bay
and Manzanillo Bay and Colón.
Depart 7.00pm.
Day 8: Puerto Limón (San José),
Costa Rica
6.30am: Your next call is for San
José, dotted with theatres,
museums and markets bursting
with luscious local tastes. Why
not also visit the Tortuguero
Canals on a slow-moving boat
where you may even come
across a sloth, monkey and
crocodiles, too! Depart 4.00pm.
Day 9: Day at leisure
Spend your day at the Crow’s
Nest observation lounge and
enjoy sweeping views out to sea,
then dance the night away when
it transforms into a nightclub
with live bands and DJs.
Day 10: Day at leisure
This is your last full day on board.
Make sure you dine one last time
in one of the superb restaurants.
Day 11: Arrive Fort Lauderdale
7.00am: This morning its time to
disembark at the end of your
cruise.
12 Jan sailing varies – day 3: arrive Willemstad,
Curaçao 3.00pm-10.00pm; day 4: Oranjestad,
Aruba 8.00am-5.00pm.
19 Dec sailing visits Cristóbal on day 6 instead
