Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex
It’s simply a MUST-SEE attraction, easily one of the best in Florida.
Whether touring the rocket-launch areas or the world’s busiest space-launch
facility, reliving Neil Armstrong’s 1st steps on the moon or even meeting
an astronaut first hand, you are bound to be enthralled.
Kennedy Space Center Maximum Access Admission Badge
Your tour starts with a stop at the 4-storey Launch Complex 39 Observation Gantry where you can get a bird's-eye view of the 2 giant space shuttle launch pads, 39A and 38.
Next, it's on to the acclaimed Apollo/Saturn V Center where you'll be able to walk beneath the Saturn V Rocket, experiencing for yourself the thunderous rumble of the rocket lift-off and reliving the first time that man set foot on the moon.
Later, guests can take a trip to the International Space Station Center where they'll see real parts of the space station being readied for launch! The day continues with a visit to one of the 2 giant IMAX® theatres, where the dream of space flight comes alive before your very eyes! Dramatic footage shot by NASA astronauts during actual missions will make you feel like you're right there with them.
The movie screenings will either be Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3D presented and narrated by Tom Hanks, featuring rarely seen NASA footage with live-action renditions of the lunar landscape to propel you into space, nearly a quarter of a million miles above the earth's surface. Or, Space Station 3D, which will blast you off into space with astronauts and cosmonauts from Florida's Kennedy Space Center and Russia's Baikonur Cosmodrome, meeting at their new home 220 miles above earth. Narrated by Tom Cruise, this story shows the challenges, setbacks, triumphs and ultimately, the shared international victory of these remarkable men and women.
Guests may also enjoy a variety of other shows and exhibits at the Visitor Complex, including a chance to meet a real astronaut at the Astronaut Encounter Show and laugh at the zany live action show Mad Mission to Mars 2025. Your day is not complete without a visit to the Astronaut Hall of Fame, located at the entrance to the Kennedy Space Center. An incredible exhibition, it features the world's largest collection of astronaut memorabilia including historic spacecraft, one-of-a-kind space legacies and hands-on activities.
Guests can sit in a mission control console or take a virtual moonwalk, feel the pull of 4Gs in the G-Force Simulator and land the space shuttle. The recently added Shuttle Launch Experience is the most realistic space shuttle launch simulation ever created. Strap in for launch in the custom-designed crew cabin and prepare to see, feel and live the powerful journey into space at 17,500mph! Once there, the payload door opens to reveal breathtaking views of the earth below.
Also newly opened in 2007 is NASA Central, where guests can hear the latest in what's going on in space. Hi-tech displays give details on launches, spacecraft and activities on the International Space Station, plus there's the chance for some fun photo opportunities with the resident astronaut!
