Banff has three resorts covering nearly 8,000 acres. That’s a lot of terrain! There are slopes and trails suitable for every ability, and you can ski or board the Big 3 – Lake Louise, Sunshine Village and Norquay – all under 1 ski-pass. With heli-skiing, dogsledding, ice canyon walking and snowshoeing too, there’s plenty here for a longer trip.
Lake Louise offers glorious scenery and some of the driest, lightest snow in North America. But the thing visitors rave about here is how brilliantly the resort caters for skiers and boarders of all abilities. With green, blue and black routes down from every chair, it’s an ideal resort for mixed standard groups and families.
Jasper is way out in the wilderness of the Eastern Rockies, and is one of the least crowded resorts of its size in North America, so there’s plenty of room for everyone, including a range of excellent black pistes especially suitable for better intermediate skiers determined to push themselves.
Whistler is one of the world’s favourite mountain ski destinations, and with over 8,100 acres, the biggest in North America. Advanced skiers enjoy the challenge of Whistler mountain peak but there are runs and slopes for every ability, and the resort is fantastic for snowboarders. Not bad for Après either!
