Destination information
Lake Tahoe ski holidays have their own special magic. The combination of the crystal lake waters and the Sierra mountain range makes for an unmatchable location, and the skiing is world class. With reliable snowfall every year and 4,800 skiable acres, you can be out from dusk until dawn at Lake Tahoe, skiing the extensive network of lifts and trails.
If you stay south of the lake, your closest ski areas will be Heavenly, Sierra and Kirkwood. North of the lake, you can ski the likes of Northstar, Mount Rose, Alpine Meadows and the legendary Squaw Valley. But, wherever you stay, using your car or crossing the lake on a paddle steamer, it's possible to ski all over with the interchangeable pass. And because the lake straddles the borders of California and Nevada (east) side, you can also have a gamble in the casinos. If you fancy skiing more than just the pistes around Lake Tahoe, ski holidays here can easily be twinned with Mammoth Mountain too - it's only 147 miles between the 2 resorts!
The village at Heavenly
The Village at Heavenly houses many shops, restaurants and hotels, plus an ice-skating rink and cinema complex. The Heavenly Gondola is its centre point, making access to the mountain quick and easy.
Après-ski
Our wonderful ski reps organise all kinds of stuff including the Saturday Night Dixie Paddle Steamer Dinner Dance Cruise. The Pub Tahoe and the Tudor Pub are both Virgin Holidays pubs and The Blue Angel Café is extremely popular, too! For night owls, Blu at the Mont Bleu Casino and Altitude are a must.
