Destination information
Whether you’re an expert, or just learning to ski, Colorado is an amazing destination for a ski holiday. Known as the Rocky Mountain State, this is a real winter wonderland. Its high altitude, reliable snowfall and average 300 days of sunshine combine with the remarkable terrain to offer everything that skiers and snowboarders love. Colorado skiing conditions are known as some of the finest in the world, with facilities to match. The different resorts all have their own personalities; just choose how and where you want to ski. Colorado will captivate you.
Breckenridge is a relatively small resort (by American standards) but is one of the UK’s favourite ski destinations, partly because it offers a great range of runs, slopes and trails for skiers of all abilities – and partly because of its authentic Old Western atmosphere! Once a gold mining town, Breckenridge town centre is a designated National Historic District.
Winter Park is an unpretentious resort with a laid back atmosphere. The skiing is great and the town is friendly, with a good choice of places to eat and relax after a day on the slopes. And for those who fancy something a bit different, there’s dog sledding, snowshoeing, sleigh rides and even an option to ease those aching bones in hot sulphur springs.
