Destination information
Starting in Los Angeles, a great holiday is to make your way up the Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco, stopping off at the wonderful towns and villages en route. Pretty Carmel was once presided over by The Man With No Name (alias Clint Eastwood, who was its mayor). Santa Barbara is built in an exquisite Mediterranean style. Cambria is an artists' colony, with great eateries and shops. Monterey is famous for its jazz festival and aquarium.
Pismo Beach has beautiful beaches and lots of outdoor activities for you to experience.
We take you up over the border, too. Cool Seattle, in Washington State, is the birthplace of coffee shops, and the home of fabulous fresh seafood and a 600ft Space Needle (not to mention everyone's favourite TV psychiatrist, Dr Frasier Crane).
Eats & drinks
Next to the ocean you'll enjoy freshly caught seafood served in stylish restaurants. Much of the region is Spanish influenced - you'll find mouth-watering tapas dishes. Seattle has some of the best seafood in the USA, and is particularly famous for its oysters.
