Huntington Beach is one of the prime surfing spots in Orange County and every day you'll spot locals catching waves. There are plenty of surf schools if you fancy your luck - be warned though, it's harder than it looks!

Alternatively, get your inline skates or trainers on and discover the 8-mile promenade that runs the length of the beach. You can also hire bikes for this popular ocean path. Join less active locals pier-fishing or enjoy a family game of beach volleyball! The town itself is packed with surf shops selling cool bikinis, flip flops and wetsuits - all at bargain prices. Don't miss a visit to Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum.

Huntington Beach is on Pacific Coast Highway (often abbreviated to PCH) south of Los Angeles. Take the 405 freeway south and exit at Beach Boulevard.
