Staying in Banff or Lake louise?
Experience the spectacular magic and beauty of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) which dance across the sky nightly from Sep-Mar in certain areas of northern Canada. You’ll be flown up to the Northern Lights’ unofficial ‘capital’, Fort McMurray, where you’ll enjoy a 2-night stay at the Sawridge Hotel. Once you’ve settled in, you’ll partake in a delicious welcome dinner with an invaluable orientation and slide show detailing what you can expect to see during your stay. Each night you’ll be taken out to the special viewing area, accompanied by an expert astrologer, who will explain exactly what’s going on, answer any of your questions and help with night-time photography. The astronomer is equipped with a powerful telescope for even more impressive viewing! There are also plenty of hot drinks and snacks on hand to warm you up while watching this natural phenomenon.
During the day there is a wide range of exciting tours to choose from, including dogsledding, snowboarding and skiing (not included).
Optional activities are available at a local charge.
