Destination information
High in the Eastern Rocky Mountains, amid stunning scenery, and only 20 min from the town of Jasper, Marmot Basin provides over 1,675 acres of terrain supported by world-class facilities. One of the least crowded ski areas of its size in North America, it has plenty of room for everyone, from beginners to experts, to enjoy some alpine fun and games. You’ll find steep, high alpine bowls and chutes, all groomed to perfection. Intermediates who are starting to get rather good will have a particularly great time here, as there are lots of excellent black runs. There are plenty of long, gentle novice runs too. On top of all this, the skiing here is great value. There’s a great ski school too, with special snowboarding clinics.
Après-ski
Jasper has lots of restaurants and bars, all geared up to look after snow sports fans. Try the Whistle Stop pub, which has the largest selection of beers in town, and make the most of the 3-hour happy hour in O’Shea’s pub.
