The beauty of Laguna's eucalyptus-covered hillsides, dazzling beaches and quaint, tree-lined streets have long made it a favourite with local artists.
In a nutshell
There are 7 miles of soft white sands to explore incorporating 30 different beaches, including central Main Beach, which is busy on weekends. You can also find more secluded coves dotted along the coast. Laguna has a number of art galleries and museums where you can admire or buy work by local artists. Visit Laguna Art Museum or take a stroll down Forest Avenue in Downtown Village. As well as painting, the glassy waves make surfing a popular pastime. Alternatively, try hiking in Laguna Coast Wilderness Park or diving in the coves in North Laguna. There are also 2 golf courses nearby. Animal lovers can go dolphin or whale watching, or visit the Pacific Marine Mammal Centre, which rescues and rehabilitates marine mammals.
