Destination information
The town was actually created over 1,000 years ago by Eastern Algonquian Indians and was then settled by the pilgrims shortly after 1602 - making it extremely old by American standards! If you are a big Kennedy fan, a visit to the John F Kennedy Hyannis Museum is a must, while if you are fans of other former presidents, such as George Bush senior and Bill Clinton - why not take a ferry over to the pretty island of Martha's Vineyard, where both have enjoyed holidays? The other famous island, which you can visit from here, is Nantucket - with its picturesque harbour town full of cobbled streets and quaint shops it's certainly worth the ferry ride! For something entirely different - a visit to the Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory is great fun, and you get a FREE sample at the end! Other local pastimes include scoffing the famous clams and shopping at the Cape Cod Mall!
