Destination information
Explore Mayflower II, a faithful recreation of their ship, and chat with the 'pilgrims' (a rather convincing and knowledgeable group of actors) on board. Just out of town, you can visit another faithful replica, Plimoth Plantation where more brave adventurers, together with their friends the Indians, offer a fascinating glimpse of what life was like for settlers and Native Americans alike.
Back in the present, there are plenty of other attractions, including 6 local beaches to visit, and Cranberry World - a fascinating museum dedicated to the area's number one product. Seasonal whale watching and deep-sea fishing cruises are available from the waterfront, and from Plymouth you can also get the express ferry (1 hour 30 min) to Provincetown. This atmospheric little settlement on the tip of Cape Cod has excellent shops, restaurants and galleries - maybe you could take a dune-buggy ride on the famous National Seashore before heading back.
