Destination information
Indeed, the Salem Witch Museum is one of its most popular attractions, but apart from that, it's a beautiful coastal town with plenty of charm, only 20 miles north of Boston.
Various museums showcase early colonial life and for local and international art and culture, the recently expanded Peabody Essex Museum is a must. Other sights include a perfectly reconstructed 1797 merchant ship and The House of the Seven Gables (pictured) - the inspiration for Nathanial Hawthorne's Victorian ghost book! All the sights are easy to reach by walking, or save those feet and hop on board the Salem Trolley.
Eats & drinks
There are plenty of excellent restaurants in Salem serving everything from good home cooking to Japanese! For live jazz music, head to Rockafellas restaurant and bar.
