Set across the bay from San Francisco in Golden Gate National Park, Sausalito provides a quaint and more relaxing atmosphere than that offered by the hustle and bustle of its closest neighbour. Offering access to San Francisco and the rugged natural beauty of Marin County coastline it is an ideal base for exploring the Bay area. As well as being at the mouth of the world famous Golden Gate Bridge, Sausailito is close to the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma Valley. The village of Sausalito is a cultural and spiritual Californian haven. There are plenty of reasons never to leave this remarkable bayside community and the museums, art galleries, boutique shops and various sports & activities will create a plethora of excuses not to explore the gorgeous surrounding countryside.
