Heartbreak Hotel

The manager is also the front desk clerk as well as the housekeeper & the maintenance "man." Upon arrival she told us, "If you get a hangover don't come to me...I don't have any aspirin." She has limited people skills at best. The hotel is run down. The location is excellent except when you want to sleep. Then you'll hear loud music, construction, & people arguing and/or carrying on (from the street) at all hours of the night. The website is misleading, & the rooms are overpriced considering this hotel's condition. Close

I stayed here for a short vacation and was not impressed. This hotel is run down. The manager is over zealous about enforcing rules. A lot of transients stay here for extended periods of time. I would not stay here again (unless I was homeless, then I would fit right in. NOT FOR THE LEISURE TRAVELER! Close

I had reservation from July 11-16, 2006. I was evicted July 12, 2006 at Midnight. Upon Arrival: Hotel was not as advertised. At [--] it states "Newly Renovated" "Clean" and "Beautiful". The rooms were well worn, smelled of mold, and had poor aircondition and other applicances. Manager made several comments about how she does not like to rent to people my age because we make trouble. During Stay: Manager made illegal entry into guest rooms inspecting refrigerators, and making adjustments to air conditioners. Manager made a comment in front of me reference liking to rent to mostly women, and she was disappointed she has a hotel full of men. Upon Eviction: Manager evicted me at 12 midnight on July 12, 2006 for stopping in my room with a guest. The manager was intoxicated and violently waved her hands at me. I attempted to call police but was told it was a civil matter and I would need to handle it appropriatley. Laws broken: FSS 509.141(2). Failure to provide a refund for the remainder of the advanced payment upon eviction. And perhaps some others I am not familiar with. Close
