We can offer you a great way to beat the queues at the airport from the comfort of your own home! Simply log online and complete the car
hire check in process by following a few easy steps on a website.
This means when you pick up your luggage, you are all set - simply go straight to the garage to choose your car and begin your journey. So
while others are still queueing at the airport you are already on your way!
Choice
You have chosen your holiday, why not choose your exact car? Well with Virgin Holidays and Alamo you can! All car types within the category booked are all located together - giving you the chance to choose the make, model and even
colour of the car you want. Simply pick the one you want and you are away!
Online check in and Choice are only available at airport locations excluding Nashville and New York.
Extra Weeks and Upgrades
All our flydrives come with a car included for the week. However if you want it for a little longer or fancy an upgrade just let one of our experts know when you call on 0844 557 1544 to book your flydrive.
Important Information
General Info
8 Seat minivan are only available in California, Colorado, Nevada, Washington State and Oregon. New York airports are National locations/
Manhattan downtown depots are Alamo locations.
One Ways
Cars can be picked up and dropped off at any of the depots in Californian free or picked up in California and dropped in Nevada or
v/v free. Any other one way rentals are subject to one way fees payable on arrival. One Ways not permitted in Economy Cars.
Deposits and Credit Cards
Alamo will require the lead driver to have a credit card in their name. This will be swiped at time of pick up for authorisation but no
amount will be deducted. This credit card will also be used to charge for items purchased locally.
Fuel
If you have taken our Platinum Package then a tank of fuel is included. if you haven't taken this package then you will be required to
pay for a tank of fuel on arrival. You can then return the car empty.
Don't forget your licence!
You need a full British one - an international one is not needed. If you have a new style license remember to take both parts with you
not just the photocard, a faxed copy is NOT acceptable. You are not allowed to rent a car if you hold a US or Canadian driving licence.
Additional Drivers
Additonal Drivers are free in California. In all other states Additional drivers cost between $10-$25 plus tax payable on
arrival.
If you have purchased our Platinum Package additonal drivers are free.
Returning your car - just for you, a little leeway!
Rentals are on a 24 hour basis from time of collection. We have a special arrangement where cars can be returned within a 2 hour grace
period from the time the car was due back, just in case you get stuck in traffic!
Over 21's only!
Remember, to hire a car in the USA you need to be a minimum of 21 years of age. If you are aged between 21-24 inclusive, you will need to
pay a Young Driver Surcharge locally, unless you have pre purchased our Platinum package. In Manahttan you need to be aged 25 or over to
hire any car larger than a full size car.
Child Seats
Child seats are currently $6.99 plus tax per day payable on arrival unless you have purchased our Platinum package where they are included.
Car Hire Packages
All our cars come with Basic Third Party Liability Insurance of up to $1m but no other taxes or insurances.
Third Party Insurance does not cover you for damage to your own rental vehicle in the event of an accident.
We strongly recommend you take one of our Pre-bookable Car Packages which include all other Insurances you need and any pre-payable
taxes and local fees. We have two great value options for you to choose from:
EXCLUSIVE Platinum Package
Includes all taxes, insurance and airport fees plus additional drivers, a tank of fuel, and underage drivers fees. Plus exclusive to Virgin Holidays Child Seats are also included!
FULLY INCLUSIVE Package
Includes all taxes, insurance and airport fees.
Pre booking one of these packages through Virgin Holidays gives you peace of mind and means there is nothing more to pay when you arrive.
