Picture of Mayan Dude Ranch

Get to know true Texan 'horse-pitality' at the family-run Mayan Dude Ranch. Located in the heart of Texan Hill Country to the north of San Antonio, there are picturesque trails to explore, plenty of horses to get to know and world champion rodeo cowboys to meet! Spend your days exploring the ranch on horseback, tubing lazily down the Medina River, playing tennis or eating - it's a Texan pastime here!

The RanchThe Ranch

Mayan Dude Ranch is in the authentic western town of Bandera in the Texas Hill Country. This family-run ranch is comfortable and cosy, with modern amenities and large, adjoining rooms or western native rock cottages. Your days start with a cup of orange juice and some cowboy coffee brought to your room (or a lie in if you prefer). The it's down to the corral to the cowboy cookout for the kind of huge breakfast you'll need to keep up your energy for all those fun activities. Once you've devoured eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and biscuits, you can enjoy a gentle walk on horseback to explore some of the picturesque countryside. Or perhaps you'd prefer a few sets of tennis on one of the 2 courts? Either way, you'll burn off breakfast in no time. Prefer some quieter activities? Head to the Texan-sized swimming pool and snooze off breakfast in the sun. Time for another meal again? Great, lunch is served by the pool, and in the afternoon, you have another ride scheduled. You can also take an inner tube (hire locally for a small charge) and float down the peaceful Medina River, admiring the blue skies and scenic wildlife. Dinner is another Texan affair, with barbecues at the riverside gazebo, where you'll enjoy tons of brisket and ribs or tenderloin, accompanied by salads and side dishes to feed a small army. Or you might be eating a steak at Hicksville, the ranch's miniature western town. Every night is different, and every night there is entertainment galore, with music and dancing.
