After a comfortable flight with Air Canada, transfer to your downtown hotel for checking-in. There’s time for a spot of shopping during the afternoon before dining in one of Toronto’s many restaurants. The next day get better acquainted with your surrounds on a city tour. Highlights include the Eaton Centre, old and new City Halls, Casa Loma and the University of Toronto. The remainder of the day is free, heading to the top of the CN Tower perhaps for some great views!

It’s an early start today for the drive eastwards. Following the north shores of Lake Ontario, admire endless miles of rolling farmland from the comfort of your air-conditioned coach. First stop is the beautiful Thousand Islands resort region with a relaxing cruise past sights such as Boldt Castle and Millionaire’s Row. Re-board your coach for the drive into Montreal, the second largest French-speaking city in the world. The next morning there’s a tour of this dynamic city, visiting the Olympic Complex, charming Old Montreal, McGill University and Mount Royal. The afternoon is yours to spend how you please whilst in the evening there’s an optional dining excursion to one of the city’s best known Greek restaurants – a great way to get to know your fellow travellers!

Depart Montreal this morning, following the Chemin du Roy – Canada’s first carriageway – deep into the heart of French Canada. You’ll pass plenty of typical French-Canadian villages and towns, really getting a feel for French culture in this part of the world. On arrival in Quebec City, Northern America’s only walled city, there’s a guided tour highlighting sights such as the Citadel, Battlefields Park and Lower Town. Enjoy a relaxing night in one of the many lively bars and restaurants before enjoying another day exploring. Alternatively, you can join an optional full day excursion to Tadoussac, which includes a 3-hour whale watching tour on the St Lawrence River.

Follow the St Lawrence River this morning on your journey west past Montreal, across the Ottawa border and into the city itself. Lunch is en-route at the Sucrerie de la Montage – an authentic sugar shack and pioneer-style restaurant. A city tour will orient you, highlighting Parliament Buildings and UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Rideau Canal. Once the sun sets, enjoy a cocktail at your hotel before heading into the city for dinner. The next morning, head to Turtle Island for breakfast, immersing yourself in aboriginal culture. Spend the afternoon shopping at the Sparks Street Mall, wandering round one of the many fine museums and art galleries or cruising the waterways.

An early start this morning with breakfast en route at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons, a fascinating 3-acre historic site which replicates the first inland European community in Canada. Its then south past Toronto through the orchards and vineyards of the Niagara Peninsula until we reach Niagara Falls – one of the natural wonders of the world! A thrilling boat ride on the Maid of the Mist awaits you, taking you right to the foot of these thundering falls. Also on the agenda is a trip to the top of the Skylon Tower, providing spectacular falls and city views. If you can’t get enough of this natural phenomenon, there’s an optional Niagara Helicopter Tour for even more breathtaking vistas.

Your drive this morning follows the scenic Niagara Parkway route through the historic village of Niagara-on-the-Lake, home of the Shaw Festival. Arrive back in Toronto this afternoon with some time to yourself before joining us on our ‘Farewell to Canada’ dinner at the CN Tower. The next morning, return to the UK with plenty of special memories in tow!
