Toronto

2 night’s at Holiday Inn Downtown Centre (Standard), Fairmont Royal York (Deluxe).

Arrive in Toronto and transfer independently to your hotel. Drop off your bags and head downtown to discover Toronto’s cultural centre, relaxing over dinner in one of the many restaurants. The next day get to grips with the city further on a sightseeing tour taking in the provincial Parliament Buildings, City Hall, Chinatown, the waterfront and the CN Tower. The rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure.

Niagara Falls Excursion - 3 nights on VIA Rail's The Canadian

It’s a full day excursion to Niagara Falls by coach, pick up from your hotel, then travelling through the lush fruit-growing district of the Niagara Peninsula. Upon arrival, you’ll swap the train for a boat as you hop on-board the Maid of the Mist, taking you right up to the foot of the Horseshoe Falls. Another highlight is a trip along the beautiful Niagara Parkway which winds its way through the Niagara Gorge. On your return to Toronto you will board The Canadian for a 10pm departure.

The Great Lakes Excursion

The rugged terrain of the Canadian Shield is yours to admire today, home to some of North America’s oldest rock formations. It’s also dotted with thousands of freshwater lakes, sparkling in the sunshine. Early evening the train crosses into Manitoba and stops briefly in Winnipeg so you can stretch your legs. Overnight is on-board again.

Jasper

2 night’s at Amethyst Lodge (Standard), Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge (Deluxe).

You’ll cross into the vast expanses of prairie flatland in Saskatchewan and Alberta early this morning as you approach the imposing silhouette of the Rocky Mountains. Stop in Jasper for 2 nights with plenty of time to relax or tour the surrounding area.

Jasper – Lake Louise

1 night at Lake Louise Inn (Standard), Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise (Deluxe).

An unforgettable journey awaits you today as you board your coach and head towards the Icefields Parkway. Magnificent peaks, endless valleys, cascading waterfalls and mountain meadows will all delight en-route. At the Icefield, board the Ice Explorer to Athabasca Glacier for the ride of a lifetime! Back on-board, continue along the edge of the glacial shelf to Lake Louise.

Lake Louise – Banff

2 night’s at Rundlestone Lodge (Standard), Fairmont Banff Springs (Deluxe).

There’s time to explore the village of Lake Louise some more this morning, particularly the train station made famous by the film Dr Zhivago. After boarding, continue to the charming alpine town of Banff, through wide open green spaces populated with wildlife. Our sightseeing tour the next day showcases many of this region’s highlights, including the intriguing Hoodoos, Surprise Corner and Tunnel Mountain Drive, which overlooks the beautiful Bow River Valley.

Banff – Kamloops

1 night at Thompson Hotel (Standard and Deluxe).

The Rocky Mountaineer takes you through some of the most spectacular sights in western Canada today, beginning at Kicking Horse Pass, then on through the Selkirk Mountains and into the arid ranch land of British Columbia. Disembark to stay overnight in Kamloops.

Kamloops – Vancouver

3 night’s at Century Plaza (Standard), Fairmont Hotel Vancouver (Deluxe).

Another wonderful journey awaits as you re-board your train to journey through cowboy country and along the mighty Thompson and Fraser rivers. Rugged mountain peaks and rolling wind-swept hills will impress as you approach the coastal city of Vancouver. Upon arrival, transfer independently to your hotel for a 3-night stay. The hop-on, hop-off trolley tour is a great way to acquaint yourself, taking in sights such as historic Gastown, English Bay, Granville Island and Stanley Park with its colourful totem poles. There’s also a full-day trip to Victoria which begins with a cruise through the Gulf Islands and a stop at Butchart Gardens, one of the best in the world.
