Seattle

Arrive in Seattle and transfer to your comfortable downtown hotel. After settling yourself in, there’s plenty of time to explore, acquainting yourself with the city perhaps on a Ride the Ducks! tour, which takes in the very best of the city both on land and sea! The new Olympic Sculpture Park is well worth a visit as is historic Pioneer Square. There’s also an impressive downtown shopping district for those in need of some retail therapy! The birthplace of grunge, feel what its like to be a rock star at the Experience Music Project or head instead to the Woodland Park Zoo, one of the world’s finest. The observation deck of the Seattle Space Needle is a must for stunning views.
Seattle – Vancouver

Time to hit the road and head to Vancouver, Canada’s spectacular western gateway. Arriving late afternoon, drop your bags off at your hotel before heading out to enjoy the city at night. The next day is yours to spend at leisure, visiting the quaint provincial capital of Victoria on Vancouver Island perhaps or the famed Butchart Gardens. Another night, another restaurant – there’s plenty to choose from!
Vancouver – Fraser River Canyon/Kamloops

Follow the path of the prospectors today as they made their way through the Fraser River Canyon and into the Cariboo Region during the gold rush. In the afternoon, continue through the interior of British Columbia along the Thompson River named after the famous trapper and explorer David Thompson. Reach the rugged town of Kamloops late afternoon ready to enjoy a relaxing evening.
Kamloops – Jasper National Park

Continue north, marvelling as you drive at the majestic beauty of the Monashee Mountains in the Canadian wilderness. Traverse famous Yellowhead Highway by Mount Robson, the highest peak in the US Rockies before reaching the city of Jasper in Jasper National Park, your base for the night.
Jasper National Park – Banff National Park

Banff National Park - Calgary

Enjoy a last leisurely stroll through downtown Banff before continuing along the Bow River Valley to Calgary, another superb destination with a wealth of facilities to tempt you, not least a wealth of outdoor pursuits! In the afternoon, a city tour which includes Calgary’s 1988 Winter Olympics sites will help you get acquainted.
Calgary – Waterton Lakes National Park/Glacier National Park/Kalispell
1 night at Red Lion Kalispell
Say goodbye to Calgary and continue south to beautiful Waterton Lakes National Park which shares the international boundary with Montana’s Glacier National Park. A geological wonderland, it encompasses 1,600 square miles of Rocky Mountain Peaks with spectacular vistas at every turn. Once you’ve put your camera away, drive the aptly named Going to the Sun highway to Kalispell.

Jackson Hole – Craters of the Moon/Twin Falls

Drive west today through the lunar landscape of the Craters of the Moon National Monument, which boasts one of the nation’s highest concentrations of volcanic features – you really will feel as though you’re on another planet! Twin Falls – Oregon Trail/Boise/Pendleton

A drive through the vast Boise National Forest today will delight, where a segment of the historic Oregon Trail can be seen. Later, arrive in Boise – the City of the Trees and Idaho’s state capital, a perfect place to enjoy lunch. If you’ve time, stop at the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Centre in Baker City, which focuses on life along the Trail before arriving in Pendleton, home of the annual Pendleton Round-Up-Rodeo!
Pendleton – Yakima/Mt Rainier National Park
1 night at Red Lion Yakima
Yakima is your first stop today, an important agricultural region which produces apples, cherries, pears, peaches and apricots in abundance. After stocking up on some fruit fresh, continue to Mt Rainier National Park to marvel at its ice-clad extinct volcano towering above the surrounding area.
Mt Rainier National Park Area – Seattle

There’s another chance to admire the sheer beauty of Mt Rainier and its evergreen forests this morning before heading back to Seattle. Enjoy a last night in this vibrant city, taking home with you many treasured memories of your time on the road in western Canada.
