Los Angeles

3 night's accommodation at Radisson Culver City (upto 31 Mar '12 departures) (Crowne Plaza LAX 01 Apr '12 departures)
Arrive in to LA airport, where you will be met by your American Tours rep. You will have 2 days at leisure in Los Angeles to explore the sights and sounds of this fabulous and glitzy city. On your third day, you travel to San Diego for the day where you will have a tour of the city and visit picturesque Seaport village, San Diego relaxing bay-front marketplace. Then back to LA for your last night before hitting the open road.

Los Angeles - Palm Springs - Scottsdale

Leave Los Angeles behind and travel to Scottsdale, a city built entirely on the principles of recreation and relaxation, so you can guarantee there will be lots of exciting activities to keep you busy during your time here.

Scottsdale - Grand Canyon

1 night's accommodation at Yavapai Lodge West.
Travel through the Sonora Desert, with its towering Saguaro cacti. Continue to Sedona and see the spectacular red rock scenery before arriving at the Grand Canyon.

Grand Canyon - Lake Powell

Drive along the South Rim and view the Canyon in the morning light, then travel to beautiful Monument Valley, with its red sandstone spires and monoliths. Enjoy this magnificent landscape before continuing to Lake Powell.

Lake Powell - Bryce Canyon

Enter the Mormon state of Utah this morning. Pass through the town of Kanab before touring spectacular Bryce Canyon.

Bryce Canyon - Las Vegas

2 night's accommodation at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino
Travel to Zion National Park and see the massive rock formations carved by wind, time and the Virgin River. This afternoon, experience the contrast of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas - Mammoth Lakes

1 night's accommodation at Mammoth Mountain Inn (Holiday Inn Visalia (upto 31 Mar '12 departures) Four Points by Sheraton (01 Apr '12 departures) during Winter months)
Travel through Death Valley, the lowest point below sea level in the Western Hemisphere, to the alpine resort town of Mammoth Lakes (Visalia - Holiday Inn in winter Oct-May).

Mammoth Lakes - Yosemite Gateway

Travel across Tioga Pass and then spend the day seeing some of the wonders of Yosemite National Park.

Yosemite Gateway- San Francisco

2 night's accommodation at Holiday Inn Golden Gateway.
Today's drive crosses California's agricultural valley en route to San Francisco. Upon arrival, you take a city tour which includes the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman's Wharf. Next day, you are free to explore this glorious city.

San Francisco - Pismo Beach

1 night's accommodation at Mission Inn or Seacrest Resort (upto 31 Mar '12 departures) Oxford Suite (01 Apr '12 departures onwards)
This morning, travel south and visit Monterey and Carmel. Make your way to Paso Robles, home of real cowboys and wineries.

Pismo Beach - Los Angeles

1 night's accommodation at Radisson Culver City (upto 31 Mar '12 departures) (Crowne Plaza LAX 01 Apr '12 departures onwards)
Enjoy a beautiful drive through Santa Barbara. Upon arrival in LA, take a city tour, which includes Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Next morning it's off to the airport for your flight home.

**Winter Routing The Tioga Pass may be closed due to weather or road conditions, in which case you will overnight in Fresno or Visalia and a visit to Mammoth Lakes will not be possible (winter routing applies to all departures between October and May under normal snow conditions).
