In a nutshell
Stay on New Providence to enjoy lovely Cable Beach, a lively atmosphere with lots of bars and restaurants. Head for one of the Out Islands for a very different, barefoot experience in laid-back seclusion.
New Providence, the main island, is home to the pastel-painted capital, Nassau, where you can admire the colonial architecture, particularly at the Governor's house. Paradise Island, linked by a causeway, is home to lively nightlife and the celebrated Atlantis resort. A visit to its amazing aquarium is a must. You can book a 'swim with the dolphins' experience on Paradise Island, too. The Out Islands (there are over 300) have a sleepier vibe and are for lovers to chill out together, enjoying the simple pleasures of island life.
