Firstly Congratulations! You are about to plan the happiest day of your life. We ask you to relax and enjoy looking through our online brochure to choose your wedding venue. Once you have chosen your wedding destination please call us and we can turn your dreams into a reality. We want to make sure your special day goes without a hitch, so here are a few tips to help you on your way.
Where to Start?
Making the arrangements is easy.
When you're ready to book just call us on 0844 557 3999 and we'll take care of everything or see your local travel agent. There is usually a minimum residency requirement of two to five days in most resorts before you can apply for your marriage license, so please bear this in mind. Each country have their own legal requirements, so you will need to make sure you have the correct documentation.
As you will see we offer a variety of different wedding packages at each resort, so please choose the one that best meets your requirements and we will take care of the rest!
Once you have booked your holiday you will receive your Virgin Weddings acknowledgement letter, to confirm we are dealing with your wedding request, also introducing your dedicated wedding co-ordinator and guiding you through the next steps of the wedding process. You can then expect
confirmation of your wedding within approximately 10-14 days.
Once your wedding is booked you can then decide who you would like to attend your wedding: some couples prefer the have an intimate ceremony for two; while others may prefer to invite friends and family along too.
Approx 6 months in advance...
You will need to start collating all your original documents and check your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your return date. We require photocopies (or certified copies for certain destinations), please refer to your confirmation letter for further details of what you will need to send to us. You will also need to check if you need any inoculations and whether or not you require a visa to travel to your chosen destination. This is also a good time to choose your wedding rings and start thinking how you would like your hair for your big day!
About 5 weeks before...
Your wedding co-ordinator will send you a final letter; in this we will reconfirm your wedding date and any other important details.
About 2 weeks before…
You will receive your holiday documentation; this will include your full itinerary, flight tickets, accommodation voucher and transfer voucher (documents can vary as this depends on what you have booked).
In resort
Once you have arrived at your destination you will be contacted by your local wedding co-ordinator. They will show you the available wedding location(s), confirm all the finer details of your special day including choosing your flowers and booking any wedding extras you might like. Also at this time they will go through the legalities for your wedding. All we ask from you now is to relax and enjoy your special day!
