Destination information
Botswana offers some of the best safari experiences in Africa in the Chobe and Okavango Delta regions. Chobe National Park has one of the greatest concentrations of game in Africa, and it offers an amazing safari experience.
The most extraordinary thing about Chobe is the elephant population. The other great wildlife-watching spot in Botswana is the Okavango Delta, the ‘river that never finds the sea’. It’s the world’s largest inland delta, where instead of flowing into the ocean, the annual flood of freshwater flows inland and is home to vast numbers of game, bird and fish.
best time to visit
- Botswana offers exceptional wildlife and game viewing all year round.
- Birding season is from Nov-Mar when the Okavango Delta is home to the many migratory birds during their breeding season.
- Botanical season is from Dec-May when the vegetation is lush and green, and also when most plants are in flower.
