A new concept in holidays, Tea Trails combines boutique luxury with the plantation bungalow experience. Set amidst a working tea estate at an altitude of 5000ft, accommodation is divided between 4 very well-equipped bungalows, located at different points around the beautiful Castlereagh Reservoir. Each bungalow is very different in style and you can choose to stay at one property or mix and match! How you spend your day in these delightful surrounds is up to you, lazing by the pool perhaps, reading a good book or pampering yourself in the tea spa. More active pursuits include guided walks, mountain bike rides, kayaking and rafting. If you’re feeling particularly energetic, hiking up the sacred slopes of Adam’s Peak will reward you with magnificent views or enjoy a trek through Horton Plains National Park. Nuwara Eliya golf course is also close by for the enthusiast. Meals can be taken in the main restaurant or in your suite and are gourmet standard, accompanied by fine wines. If you’re out all day, it’s not a problem; a delightful picnic hamper will be packed for you so you can enjoy lunch on the hoof! No trip here would be complete, however, without the ‘Tea Experience’, following the production process from plucking your own tea leaves through to brewing, allowing you to sample probably the best cup of tea ever!

24 rooms in 4 separate bungalows. Tiensin has 6 suites, wood panelled rooms, a large fireplace and is decorated in British colonial style. Castlereagh has 5 suite rooms in a lakeside setting with swimming pool and croquet lawn. Norwood has 5 suites reminiscent of a 1960’s tropical bungalow. Summerville has 4 suites and offers contemporary elegance and stunning views of the lake. Suites have a king-size bed and sleep 2 people.
