Surrounded by open savannah plains, riverine forest, springs, streams and rivers, the Mara Porini Camp boasts the most spectacular location.
Owned by a local Maasai community who have recently set aside the conservancy as a sanctuary for wildlife, there are just 6 tents, all very comfortable indeed and in the shade of yellow-barked Acacia trees, promoting an unforgettable bush experience. There’s a wide variety of animal species in the vicinity, including a large pride of resident lions and no better way to see them than on morning and evening game drives. As this is an open camp, it’s not uncommon to have nightly visits from grazing buffalo and elephants, so keep that camera handy! Other activities include guided walks with local people to learn all about the area you’re staying in. Sunset drives to local beauty spots are on the agenda too, with cocktails provided as you marvel at one of natures most dramatic spectacles. Overlooking the camp is the lounge area where clients can relax with a drink before dinner. Meanwhile, the camp chef is busy preparing food of the highest standard, usually served outdoors, under a canopy of stars!
Where is it?
In the exclusive wildlife conservancy of Ol Kinyei, one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the Serengeti-Mara eco-system. The Masai Mara park boundary is less than 18 kilometres away. Transfer time from airport: x min.
