A fantastic pit stop either side of your safari holiday, Nairobi is a captivating corner of the world. It has restaurants galore, exciting nightlife and some of the best shopping in Africa! Constantly on the go, you’ll soon fall into its fast, frenetic pace, following in the footsteps of celebrities, VIPS and royalty who have all enjoyed the myriad attractions of Kenya’s capital city.
Colourful Masai markets are great to browse around and will almost certainly stock that souvenir you’ve been searching for! If you can’t wait to see the animals, there’s Nairobi National Park with lions, giraffes and impalas - just some of the residents. You can see closely and even feed the giraffe in the Giraffe Centre, home to the rescued endangered Rothschild giraffe. There’s also a wonderful elephant orphanage, Sheldrick, close by where you can learn all about their re-introduction to the wild (open between 11am-noon daily). The National Museum of Kenya is another attraction well worth visiting, it’s so big, you could easily spend the day there!
