Australia’s oldest city is built around a series of natural inlets and beaches culminating in Sydney Cove, which is dominated by the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
Overlooking the harbour is the historic Rocks area - Sydney's birthplace, its narrow streets packed with attractive colonial buildings, restaurants, bars and upmarket shops. Just down from here is Circular Quay where you can take the ferry to various beaches and the excellent Taronga Zoo.
When it comes to the arts, Sydney is second to none. Be sure to check out the Art Deco Museum of Contemporary Art and the brilliant Powerhouse Museum.
Sydney is also home to one of the world's most exciting restaurant scenes. Fresh, local produce is always important, and the city has absorbed the flavours of Southeast Asia and Polynesia into its cuisine, making for a scintillating experience.
With all this, plus more than 300 sunshine days a year, it's clear that Sydney is the city with everything. Enjoy exploring it!

An intriguing blend of past and present, New South Wales and Southern Queensland is where the world’s largest expanse of subtropical rainforest meets mountains forged from ancient volcanoes. There’s also an incredible coastline, packed to bursting with beautiful beaches. Surfing is a favourite pastime as is peering out to sea to spot whales and dolphins frolicking amongst the waves. Widely regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful locations, Byron Bay will delight. As well as some of the best surf breaks in Australia, it is steeped in Aboriginal and European history and offers easy access to the Rainforest Way – a series of drives that explores the spectacular World Heritage listed rainforest in this area. Further north into Queensland is Brisbane, a region filled with energy and endless things to do. Here you’ll discover the very best in food, wine, art, entertainment and sports. There’s also exciting shopping to tempt you and a thriving night-time scene. Take a drive through the Brisbane countryside and you’ll discover mountains, valleys and historic hinterland towns – all within striking distance of downtown. Fraser Island is the world's largest sand island with a length of 123km, but this dry fact does little to prepare you for the experience. Accumulated from sediments swept north from New South Wales over the last two million years, the scenery ranges from silent forests and beaches sculpted by wind and surf to crystal-clear streams and dark, tannin-stained lakes, we highly recommend you make a stop here and don’t miss Noosa, the exclusive end of the Sunshine Coast and an established celebrity "des-res" area.
