Virgin Holidays View
Originally built in 1875, this art-deco styled house is located between the Garden Route and Cape Town, offering the perfect first stop on a most picturesque Garden Route drive. This little gem of a hotel is a really relaxed place, with the service and ambience making a stay here a very welcome experience. Offering a nice environment, with true country hospitality with good food where you feel at home, with nothing too fussy. There is a lovely garden where hours can be spent just enjoying life, a book and a chilled glass of wine or maybe treat yourself to use the Natural Health Centre. Lunch is an outside affair, in both the summer and winter months, with a vine covering the pergola adding to the country atmosphere. Light lunches and a selection of traditional dishes are available with the oxtail soup in the winter and a Pear and Blue Cheese Salad in the summer particular favourites. Dinner is somewhat more formal, but not too much! Traditional South African fare sourced from local ingredients is served, with the beautiful background music supplied by an in-house pianist on a baby grand. Don’t miss the chauffeur driven Cadillac trip around the wine lands owned by the hotel and dating back to 1956, it’s a must!
