Destination information
Kwa-Zulu Natal is a stunning mix of landscapes and scenery from mountains to ocean. Most holidays will begin or end in Durban (or 'Durbs' as its fondly known), a city recently redesigned for the arrival of the 2010 World Cup and now an eclectic hub of cultures and activities. Further afield are the majestic Drakensberg Mountains, the battlefields of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift made famous in the epic film 'Zulu' and in the north some spectacular game reserves and the untouched beaches of the Indian Ocean.
Inland are the 'Midlands' of Drakensberg where you can pursue outdoor activities, see South Africa's 2nd highest waterfall, view the cave paintings of the Bushmen and traverse colossal mountain passes.
You can also explore the Battlefield Route. The Boers battled the Brits and the Zulus battled both, for this is their heartland. You can meet them at the excellent Shakaland Zulu Experience.
