Spier Hotel is a stunning resort on the edge of Stellenbosch with a range of activities all within the hotel's grounds. The hotel part of Spier is set up like a village, with large rooms set into two storey buildings grouped around private courtyards each with their own pools and spacious gardens. The larger Spier resort is a 300-year-old wine farm which still features on-site wine tasting, plus a choice of restaurants including the African themed MOYO, picnic area with children's playgrounds and even a Cheetah Outreach centre, a conservation centre for injured Big Cats. As well as the resort facilities of golf, horse-riding and the many walks and trails, Spier is also home to Eagle Encounters, a bird of prey rehabilitation, education, conservation and eco-tourism centre.
