Adelaide is set beside the River Torrens, between the Adelaide hills and the waters of Gulf St Vincent. The city centre is surrounded by parklands and contains a mix of historical buildings, wide streets, numerous shops, street cafés and restaurants. The North Terrace is the city's wide, tree-lined boulevard and houses the South Australian Museum, Botanical Gardens and the Art Gallery of South Australia. Visit Rundle Street for alfresco dining, The Parade at Norwood for a great Italian meal and Gouger Street for seafood and Asian fare. Just a short tram journey from Adelaide city centre is Glenelg Beach, perfect for those wanting to be close to the city, but also by the coast!
