Made famous as the location for the film The Beach, this
spectacular island (or rather, pair of islands) has soaring
limestone cliffs and beautifully white beaches.
In a nutshell
The islands are 25 miles south of Krabi
and 30 miles east of Phuket. There
are no roads, but many beaches are
connected by footpaths and longtail
boats will take you between beaches.
The diving and snorkelling in the
turquoise sea is fantastic, with
exceptionally clear waters.
