Tour Information
Day 1: Arrive Hanoi
You will be met at Hanoi airport and transferred to the
Sofitel Plaza Hotel for an overnight stay in a Standard Room. Time permitting, you will have an opportunity to ride on a cyclo around Hanoi Old Quarter before enjoying a traditional water puppet show. Dinner will be at a local restaurant in Hanoi Old Quarter. (D)
Day 2: Mai Chau Homestay
After breakfast, depart by bus to the Hilltribe region of Mai Chau. The journey passes through peaceful landscapes with tea and sugar cane plantations, and distinct hilltribe houses built on stilts on the green slopes of the surrounding mountain ranges. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch with a local family. Your local guide will act as a translator whilst providing you with an insight into local life. After lunch, it’s a 2-hour trek to the next village where your homestay awaits. Arrive at the homestay around 6.00pm – just in time to help your host family prepare dinner! Spend the evening learning more about how the hill tribe villages live and work. (B/L/D)
Day 3: Mai Chau Homestay
Wake early as the village comes alive and after breakfast, continue trekking through rice terraces and hill tribe villages along buffalo paths and trails. Stop for a picnic lunch en route before staying overnight with another hill tribe family. (B/L/D)
Day 4: Depart Hanoi
Rise early and say goodbye to your gracious hosts before the drive back to Hanoi. You will be transferred back to Hanoi airport for your onward journey. (B)
