Tour Information
The Safari
A magical safari offering wonderful wildlife encounters in the Kruger National Park and the contrasting landscapes of the Northern Province. With game drives in 4x4 vehicles, you'll enjoy the opportunity to escape the crowds.
Day 1: London - Johannesburg
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Johannesburg with Virgin Atlantic.
Day 2: Johannesburg
You touch down in Johannesburg and transfer to the Rosebank Hotel in Sandton for a day of relaxation. Optional tours are available to Soweto or the Gold Fields. Dinner is not included tonight.
Day 3: Kruger
After breakfast, it's an early start (7.00am) to see those animals on safari in Kruger National Park. You travel via Witbank, Belfast, Nelspruit and Hazyview (where you change to open 4x4 safari vehicles). Enter the world-famous Kruger National Park, home to the 'Big Five', for an afternoon safari! One of the oldest national parks in Africa, Kruger is home to a great diversity of wildlife. Game drives in 4x4 vehicles allow access to the less visited of the park's roads and tracks, offering a chance to encounter wildlife. Stay 2 nights at your rest camp. Though simple accommodation, the rustic rest camps of Kruger enjoy the best locations with immediate access to the surrounding wildlife and scenery. (B/D)
Day 4: Kruger
A full day in Kruger starts early (because the animals do too!). Early morning game drives can be often the most rewarding, as the game takes advantage of the dew and cool air. Subsequently, this can be the best opportunity to witness the park's predatory cats. After the morning adventures, a lunchtime break is followed by a game drive in the afternoon. Back to the rest camp for dinner and a well-earned sleep! Facilities vary in rest camps but a restaurant, bar and shop or convenience store are normally available. (B/D)
Day 5: Kruger - Shiduli Private Game Reserve
After a morning game drive, you'll be picked up by your new hosts - the Shiduli Private Game Reserve who will whisk you off to their lovely property in the Northern Province, for 3 nights. Providing a contrast to Kruger National Park, the Northern Province offers a stunning backdrop for game viewing. Anticipate some great views en route. (B/L/D)
Day 6: Shiduli Private Game Reserve
You are introduced to the Bushveld. Experienced rangers drive you in 4x4 open vehicles, seeking out all the most exciting animals. There may be an opportunity to join a tracker as he searches for the game on foot. After all these thrills, it's back to the lodge for dinner. (B/L/D)
Day 7: Shiduli Private Game Reserve
You have the day to relax. We feel it's essential to have a day to enjoy the African bush and fully appreciate the natural beauty of the surrounding scenery. Enjoy time to reflect on the wildlife encounters experienced so far or after a short break, at least, discover crystal waterfalls, hike up to look-out points in the surrounding reserve and witness incredible views over the bush and mountains. For some, the best way to spend the last day is indolently by the swimming pool. As the sun sets, take a sundowner by one of the waterholes. (B/L/D)
Day 8: Hazyview - Johannesburg
After breakfast, you are taken back to Hazyview with lots of great sights on the way. You will then transfer to Hoedspruit or Mpumalanga airport for your flight back to Johannesburg and onwards to London Heathrow (B)
