The Tour
A fully escorted tour taking in the highlights of Namibia. With its combination of largely untouched vast country and relatively tiny population, Namibia is the ultimate land of discovery and soul-searching. This is a land of wide horizons, endless stretches of golden desert dunes, surreal rock formations and rocky plains. Namibia is the ideal country for your African safari or holiday, and in this tour we will highlight some of these superb features.
Day 1: London - Windhoek
Fly from London Gatwick to Windhoek with Air Namibia.
Day 2: Windhoek
On arrival, transfer to your Windhoek hotel for 1 night. Overnight: Windhoek Country Club.
Day 3: Windhoek - Etosha
A morning departure heading to a local market, followed by a visit to beautiful Otjikoto Lake, then on to Etosha National Park where you will check in to your accommodation for 2 nights. Overnight: Mushara Lodge. (L/D)
Day 4: Etosha
Full day in the park visiting various waterholes to observe the wildlife. Overnight: Mushara Lodge. (B/D)
Day 5: Etosha
A second day in the park driving along the vast salt pan, with game viewing en route. Lunch is at Halali Rest Camp (local charge). After lunch continue westward. Overnight: Namatubis Guest Farm. (B/D)
Day 6: Damaraland
We head for Damaraland - one of the last true wilderness areas in Africa. Pass Otjo, Khorixas and other spectacular landscapes before reaching the Petrified Forest. Spend 2 nights here. Overnight: Twyfelfontein Country Lodge. (B/D)
Day 7: Damaraland
Visit the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein and see fascinating geological features such as the Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight: Twyfelfontein Country Lodge. (B/D)
Day 8: Damaraland - Swakopmund
We continue to Henties Bay for lunch (local charge), then visit Swakopmund, stopping at some of the region's natural wonders, such as the ancient welwitschia mirabilis, the Moon Landscape and Oasis Goanikontes. Proceed to your accommodation for a 2-night stay. Overnight: Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre. (B)
Day 9: Swakopmund
Day at leisure in this charming coastal resort. (B)
Day 10: Sossusvlei
We travel via Walvis Bay to the edge of the Namib Desert and then proceed to Naukluft Park, the Kuiseb Canyon and the Gaub Pass, before reaching the Namib Desert Lodge, your base for the next 2 nights. (B/D)
Day 11: Sossusvlei
Visit the spectacular dunes at Sossusvlei, reputedly the highest in the world. Overnight: Namib Desert Lodge. (B/D)
Day 12: Windhoek - London
We return to Windhoek via the scenic Spreetshoogte Pass. We arrive back at Windhoek in the late afternoon, in time for your return flight to London Gatwick with Air Namibia. (B)
