The TourThe Tour

19 days/18 nights - explore the stunning and rugged west coast of Australia with AAT Kings.

Day 1: Arrive Darwin
On arrival in Darwin (flights to arrive prior to 2.30pm), transfer to the Darwin Central Hotel. This afternoon, join a city tour and enjoy a welcome drink in the evening. (D)

Day 2: Katherine Gorge
Head south to Katherine, stop at the Adelaide River War Cemetery and cruise through Katherine Gorge. Overnight at the Paraway Motel, Katherine. (B/D)

Day 3: Ord River Cruise
This morning, visit historic Durack Homestead, then travel to Lake Argyle, Australia's largest man-made lake. Cruise on the Ord River to Kununurra. The next 2 nights will be spent at the Country Club Hotel, Kununurra. (B/D)

Day 4: Kununurra
Today, visit the Ord River Irrigation Scheme, Hidden Valley National Park and Kelly's Knob Lookout. (B/D)

Day 5: Wyndham - 5 Rivers Lookout
Visit Parry Lagoon Nature Reserve, then on to Wyndham to the 5 Rivers Lookout. Visit Warriu Park to see Dreamtime Statues and rock art, then travel to the outback station of El Questro. The next 2 nights will be spent at Emma Gorge Resort (tented cabins with private facilities). (B/D)

Day 6: El Questro
Today, cruise through Chamberlain Gorge, then enjoy time at leisure at Emma Gorge Resort. (B/D)

Day 7: Lirrgarn Argyle Diamond Mine
Enjoy a guided tour of the world's largest diamond mine at Lirrgarn Argyle, then continue to Halls Creek. Overnight at the Kimberley Hotel, Halls Creek. (B/L/D)

Day 8: Geikie Gorge
Travel to the remote township of Fitzroy Crossing. This afternoon, cruise through spectacular Geikie Gorge. Overnight at Fitzroy River Lodge, Fitzroy Crossing. (B/L/D)

Day 9: Derby - Broome
Travel to the port of Derby and see the famous Boab Prison Tree. Continue to the tropical resort town of Broome and see Chinatown and Streeters Jetty. The next 2 nights will be spent at the Cable Beach Club Resort, Broome. (B)

Day 10: Broome at Leisure
A day at leisure to explore this tropical hideaway. (B)

Day 11: Port Hedland
Skirt the edge of the Great Sandy Desert to Port Hedland, a major shipping outlet for the mineral rich Pilbara region. Overnight at the Hospitality Inn, Port Hedland. (B/D)

Day 12: Karijini National Park
Leave Port Hedland and travel into Karijini National Park for a night at Karijini Eco Retreat in a deluxe eco-tent with en-suite facilities. (B/D)

Day 13: The Pilbara
Continue to explore Karijini National Park and see spectacular gorges, waterfalls and rock pools. Continue to Tom Price and enjoy a tour of an iron ore mine. Overnight at the Windawarri Lodge, Tom Price. (B/L/D)

Day 14: North West Cape
Today, visit Giralia Station. Continue to Exmouth, on the boundary of the Ningaloo Marine Park. Overnight at Potshot Hotel Resort, Exmouth. (B/L/D)

Day 15: Ningaloo Reef
Travel to Coral Bay and join a sub-sea viewer over the Ningaloo Reef. Continue to Monkey Mia for the next 2 nights at Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort. (B/D)

Day 16: Monkey Mia
This morning, walk to the beach where the dolphins come in to shore. Please Note: As dolphins are wild, their appearance cannot be guaranteed! (B)

Day 17: Kalbarri
This morning, visit Hamelin Pool to see the world's best known colony of stromatolites. Stop at Shell Beach, formed from billions of shells up to 10m deep. Later, visit Kalbarri National Park. Overnight at All Seasons Geraldton. (B/D)

Day 18: The Pinnacles
Travel to Nambung National Park to view the mystical Pinnacles. Continue to Yanchep National Park and enjoy an Aboriginal cultural experience, before travelling on to Perth. Overnight at the Travelodge, Perth. (B/D)

Day 19: Depart Perth
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Perth, before transferring to Perth airport to connect with your onward flight (flights to depart after 1.00pm). (B)
