Day 1: London - Johannesburg
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Johannesburg.
Day 2: Johannesburg
On arrival, transfer to Protea Hotel Wanderers for an overnight stay. (RO)
Day 3: Johannesburg - mpumalanga
Depart Johannesburg for Pretoria, South Africa's capital city. Sights include the Voortrekker Monument, regarded as a shrine to the Afrikaner community, and the world-famous Premier Diamond Mines. After lunch, depart for Mpumalanga to stay overnight at the Royal Hotel. (B/L/D)
Day 4: Kruger
Time to explore your spectacular local surrounds, including Pilgrim's Rest, an old mining village, and the Blyde River Canyon. Overnight: Kruger National Park rest camp. (B/D)
Day 5: Kruger
Head off into the wilderness for an all-day adventure in search of the 'Big Five' - lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. Overnight: Kruger National Park rest camp. (B)
Day 6: Swaziland
Depart for the kingdom of Swaziland, taking in Ngwenya Glass Factory and the capital city of Mbabane, famous for its vibrant markets. Overnight: Ezulwini Valley. (B/L/D)
Day 7: Hluhluwe
After a visit to the Swazi Candle Factory, it's off to Zululand. Arrive mid-afternoon in World Heritage Site, St Lucia. Overnight: Protea Hotel St Lucia. (B)
Day 8: Durban
Enjoy a cruise on Lake St Lucia before departing for Durban via the lush KwaZulu Natal coastline. Afternoon at leisure or join us on an optional afternoon city tour. Overnight: Protea Hotel Edward. (B)
Day 9: Garden Route
A mid-morning flight to Port Elizabeth after breakfast. On arrival, you will be guided through the Tsitsikamma Forest and on to Knysna. Next 2 nights at the Knysna Log Inn. (B/D)
Day 10: Garden Route
Cruise the vast Knysna Lagoon and visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Afternoon at leisure. (B/L)
Day 11: Garden Route
Continue to Oudtshoorn, the centre of South Africa's ostrich industry. Learn about these creatures before heading to the Congo Caves. Overnight: Queens Hotel. (B/L)
Day 12: Cape Town
Cameras at the ready for a day of magnificent vistas, passing an ever-changing canvas en route to Cape Town. Next 3 nights at Protea Hotel President. (B)
Day 13: Cape Town
Tour the ruggedly beautiful Cape Peninsula today via the Atlantic Seaboard. Stop at Hout Bay, then continue to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, finally stopping at Boulders Beach to see the penguins! (B)
Day 14: Winelands
Journey into the beautiful and tranquil Cape Winelands, visiting Paarl and Stellenbosch. Also on the agenda is a visit to the Huguenot Memorial Museum and the Afrikaans Language Monument. (B)
Day 15: Cape Town - London
Fly back to London Heathrow with Virgin Atlantic.
