Description
Day 1: London - Cape Town
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Cape Town with Virgin Atlantic and South African Airways.
Day 2: Winelands
On arrival at Cape Town airport, you are met and given your driving directions. Drive to the Winelands and the town of Stellenbosch. Overnight: Village at Spier hotel. (B)
Day 3: Winelands
Set off through the heart of the Winelands, stopping at beautiful Franschhoek. Continue through Worcester, stopping en route at the Graham Beck winery. Overnight: Montagu Country Inn. (B)
Day 4: Winelands
Follow Route 62 through the fruit-growing regions of the Western Cape. Overnight: Port Wine Guesthouse. (B)
Days 5-7: Garden Route
Travelling over Thomas Baine's Pass you arrive at Oudtshoorn, the 'ostrich town'. Then on to Knysna for 3 nights at Knysna Hollow Country Estate. (B)
Day 8: Hermanus
Your route today takes you back towards Cape Town, leaving then rejoining the coast at the village of Hermanus - the top land-based whale-watching resort in Africa (Jul-Nov). Overnight: Beach House. (B)
Day 9: Cape Town - London
Make your way back to Cape Town via Sir Lowry's Pass, giving you views over the whole Peninsula. Connect with your Virgin Atlantic or South African Airways flight back to London Heathrow. (B)
