The Tour
A 10-night flydrive tour discovering the highlights of Namibia, including the magnificent wildlife of Etosha National Park, the breathtaking scenery of Damaraland and the beautiful sand dunes of the Namib Desert.
Day 1: London - Windhoek
Depart London Gatwick with Air Namibia for your overnight flight to Windhoek.
Day 2: Windhoek
On arrival, you will be met and given your detailed driving directions for your tour. Proceed to your accommodation for the night - a luxury resort in a tranquil desert setting. Overnight: Windhoek Country Club.
Day 3: Etosha National Park
Depart Windhoek and head north, perhaps stopping in Okahanja to visit the woodcarvers. Continue to Otjiwarongo where you can stop for lunch. After lunch, continue north past Tsumeb before turning west toward the Etosha National Park. Overnight: Mushara Lodge. (B/D)
Day 4: Etosha National Park
After breakfast, head into Etosha National Park. Etosha is one of Africa's great wildlife reserves and home to lion, elephant, rhino and leopard. Overnight: Mushara Lodge. (B/D)
Day 5: Etosha National Park
Today you will drive west along the southern side of the vast Etosha Pan, towards one of the National Park's rest camps, with game viewing en route. The evening can be spent at the camp's floodlit waterhole, watching the animals come down to drink. Overnight: Etosha National Park's rest camps. (B)
Day 6: Damaraland
Leave Etosha this morning and head southwest towards Damaraland, one of Namibia's most scenic regions. The drive takes you through varied landscapes before eventually arriving in the sparse semi-desert of this region. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Overnight: Dora Nawass Lodge. (D)
Day 7: Damaraland
The day is yours for you to explore the region. Either relax at the lodge and enjoy the tranquillity of the area or book a full-day excursion to find the nomadic Himba people, or even go rhino tracking on foot (own expense). Overnight: Dora Nawass Lodge. (B/D)
Day 8: Swakopmund
Depart early this morning, setting off towards Henties Bay. En route you can visit the Petrified Forest at Twyfelfontein and the Organ Pipes (own expense). This afternoon, arrive in the seaside town of Swakopmund for a 2-night stay. Overnight: Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre. (B/D)
Day 9: Swakopmund
The day is at leisure to enjoy the ambience of this quaint town - a popular choice is a harbour cruise (own expense). Overnight: Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre. (B)
Day 10: Namib Desert
This morning, head towards the Namib Desert and your lodge near the Namib Naukluft Park. Arrive at lunchtime and have the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Overnight: Namib Naukluft Lodge. (B/D)
Day 11: Namib Desert
Leave before sunrise this morning for Sossusvlei where you will have the chance to climb the world's highest sand dunes. Early morning is the best time to view Sossusvlei and allows the best photographic opportunities. Overnight: Namib Naukluft Lodge. (B/D)
Day 12: Windhoek - London
Return to Windhoek airport for your early evening flight back to London Gatwick. (B)
