Day 1: London - Cape Town
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Cape Town with Virgin Atlantic or South African Airways. days 2-3: cape town On arrival, pick up your hire car and drive to the Protea Hotel President for 5 nights. On day 3 enjoy a full day at leisure. Make sure you take some time to climb Table Mountain (whether by foot or cable car!) for some incredible views of the Cape Peninsula. A tour to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was famously imprisoned is also highly recommended. Browse for gifts in Greenmarket Square or visit the Cape Quarter for trendy shops and cafés. (B)
Day 4: Cape Peninsula
Today a full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula has been included. Sights include the trendy resort of Camps Bay - one of the most desirable places to live in Cape Town, Hout Bay, the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Boulders Beach - home to the famous colony of jackass penguins. This area offers stunning views of Table Bay and some gorgeous white sand beaches. (B)
Days 5-6: Cape Town and the Winelands
On day 5, enjoy a day at leisure. On day 6, a full-day excursion to the Winelands has been included. For many, the Cape Winelands are the epitome of 'Cape Dutch' living and a wonderful mix of cuisine and delicious wines. Escape to the tranquility and 'old world charm' of Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch wine areas, and travel to a prize-winning wine estate for a wine-tasting session and tour. (B)
Days 7-10: Garden Route
Depart Cape Town today for your drive along the stunning coastline to the Garden Route. The scenery en route is simply beautiful, so take your time to enjoy the stunning landscapes and fascinating wildlife en route. On arrival into Knysna, check in to the Knysna Hollow Country Estate for 4 nights. The next few days are at leisure for you to explore the area. Take a drive to Oudsthoorn and discover the inland areas or Outeniqua Nature Reserve and the dramatic Tsitsikamma Mountains, perhaps taking some time to discover part of the Route 62 - the lesser travelled, but one of the most beautiful routes in Africa. From Knysna, take a cruise on the ferry which will take you across to the Featherbed Nature Reserve and drive eastwards along the coast, stopping at Plettenberg Bay, with wide sweeping beaches and dolphins passing close to the shoreline! Day 11: Garden Route - Entabeni
It's an early morning today as you drive to George and catch a flight to Johannesburg. On arrival, pick up your hire car and drive to Entabeni Safari Conservancy, located in the Limpopo Province of the Waterberg region, for 3 nights. (B/L/D)
Days 12-13: Entabeni
Enjoy 2 full days at Entabeni where 2 game drives are included each day. The reserve has 12,000 hectares of beautiful scenery and not only offers guided walks and drives, but also bush picnics and dinners at a series of magical places. Facilities include a swimming pool, restaurant lounge and bar so there's plenty of ways to relax between your guided bush walks and game drives. (B/L/D)
Day 14: Entabeni - London
Enjoy a final morning game drive before driving back to Johannesburg airport to connect with your overnight Virgin Atlantic flight back to London Heathrow. (B)
