Day 1: London - Delhi
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Delhi with Virgin Atlantic.
Day 2: Delhi
On arrival, transfer to Oberoi Maidens Hotel (standard option) or Taj Palace (superior option) for 2 nights. This afternoon is at leisure - you may just want to relax by the pool. Alternatively, you may want to head out and explore. Take a tuk tuk to Connaught Place and bargain hunt at the many bazaars and markets. (B)
Day 3: Delhi
Today you will enjoy a tour of Old and New Delhi. In fascinating Old Delhi you will stop at the Red Fort, the famous Jama Masjid and the Raj Ghat - where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. In New Delhi you will stop at the Presidential Palace, India Gate and the magnificent Qutub Minar. (B)
Day 4: Corbett
Today you are driven northeast to Corbett (approx 7-hour drive), India's most famous game park, in the Kumaun foothills of the Himalayas. You check in to Welcome Heritage Ram Ganga Resort (standard or superior option) for 4 nights. Enjoy a good dinner tonight, and get to bed early, ready for tomorrow. (B/D)
Day 5: Corbett
After an early breakfast, it's out to view the game accompanied by experienced rangers. Perhaps you'll see wild elephant, a jackal or two, or even one of the famed tigers! You head back for a leisurely lunch and a little snooze, maybe, before going out again for an evening game viewing. What magical moments will you capture on camera? (B/L/D)
Day 6: Corbett
Another exciting game drive this morning on the look out for elusive tigers. You pass through lush subtropical forests, viewing wonderful flowers and some of the 600 bird species. Wind down afterwards with a swim in the pool, making use of the swim-up bar! (B/L/D)
Day 7: Corbett
Another chance to spot those magnificent big cats on an early morning game viewing by jeep. Return to the Welcome Heritage for breakfast, relax, have a swim and then enjoy lunch later. In the evening, you will go out again in the jeep to spot wild boar, chital (the local spotted deer), sambar, hog deer, rhesus monkeys and of course, tigers (the rangers know their habits, so they should find them!). Day 8: Corbett - Delhi
Your last morning's game viewing should supply you with some last-minute photos before you are driven back to Delhi, where you check back in to the Oberoi Maidens Hotel (standard option) or Taj Palace (superior option) for the night. (B)
Day 9: Delhi - London
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home, memories of your tiger safari still fresh in your mind.
Goa/Sri Lanka Extension
Why not extend your holiday and enjoy 7 nights on the beach in Goa at the Holiday Inn Goa (page 78) (B) or in Sri Lanka at the Riverina (page 65) (AI). If you choose Goa, you will take a short flight from Delhi to Goa on day 9 and after 7 days at leisure, will return via Mumbai with Virgin Atlantic. If you choose Sri Lanka as your beach extension, you will fly to Colombo on day 9 and return to the UK on day 16 with SriLankan Airlines.

Important information: Tigers of Corbett is a private tour and you will be transferred in air-conditioned vehicles with English-speaking guides. All game activities in Corbett must be arranged with the hotel. Game activities can be by elephant instead of by jeep, however, this will be subject to the availability of the elephants.
Please Note: Tour does not operate between 15 Apr-15 Nov '08 as Corbett National Park is closed.
